FAQ

How does it work?

1. Grab a group friends.
2. Sign up for a time slot.
3. Show up and get locked into a room.
4. Solve the puzzles inside.
5. Try to escape the room within an hour!

How do bookings and reservations work?

Online bookings must be made 24 hours in advance Monday through Thursday and Sunday. Bookings can be made 1 hour
in advance at select times on Friday and Saturday. Same day walk-ins are accepted ONLY if you call in advance to see if
there is still space in an existing reservation.

Pay special attention to the date when booking! We'd hate for you to miss your chance by coming on the wrong day.

How many people can be on one team?

Please check the individual location/room for the number of people recommended for the game. In general, most of our rooms require teams between 4-10 people. If you have less than 4 people, please find friends to join you so we can accommodate your visit. If you do NOT want to play with strangers, please purchase all of the tickets in the room (this means buying 8 spots for End of the Line) to ensure a private party. If you are coming in for a special occasion and have specific requests, please email us and we’ll see if we can accommodate you.

What time should we arrive? What is your Late Policy?

Please ensure that your entire group arrives 10-15 minutes prior to your assigned time slot. If your group is late past a 10 minute grace period, we’ll deduct that time from your time limit in the escape room. Trust us, you’ll want every second… besides, late comers are liable to be pegged with water balloons.

What is the age limit?

We have an age limit of 10 years old. Groups of children under the age of 15 participating must have 1 adult for every 3 children UNLESS you booked the entire room. A private event of children under 15 must have an adult (21+) in the room or in the waiting area. Please understand that we want to ensure all customers have a great experience when sharing a room.

We reserve the right to reschedule any group that violates this policy.

How many rooms do you have?

We currently have the End of the Line room at Project Panic Austin and are currently working on a second one! Check the Rooms page for information about each one and for new room releases.

How long will the experience last?

You will have a 5-10 minute briefing upon arrival. You will be locked in the room for exactly 60 minutes. Spend a little time with us afterwards to celebrate your escape (or reflect on that last clue you ran out of time for) and take some photos. We promise we don’t bite. The entire session will last 80-90 minutes.

What happens if I don’t escape in time?

We’ll send in orange jumpsuits through the bars. Enjoy Alcatraz, Texas Style. Just kidding. We’re mandated by law to let you out, so don’t worry. And you are always welcome to come back and try again!

Do you have parking?

We have 7 parking spots available on our surface lot behind the building. Turn on 44th St off of Guadalupe St and the alley leading to the lot will be your first left. Parking in the spaces in front of the apartment building behind Project Panic is not recommended as towing can be enforced. Don't worry though, there is plenty of free (yay!) street parking in the surrounding streets.

Once you arrive, please come in and make yourself comfortable in the lobby. Your friendly operator will brief your group shortly. Please arrive 15 minutes before your booked time slot to ensure a timely experience.

How much does it cost to play?

Booking is $30 per person in Austin, plus tax. See our booking page for more information! Pricing varies by location.

Do you do refunds or cancellations?

Cancellations and refund requests must be made 24 hours in advance. We charge a 10% fee for each cancellation due to the difficulty of last minute staffing cancellations and transaction fees. There is a $25 fee for re-scheduling within 24 hours of your booking. We appreciate your understanding in this matter.

I’m trying to do a team-building event but I’m worried that this is scary/unprofessional… should I be?

We totally understand that certain groups may share this concern that Project Panic is some sort of “Haunted House” experience and unsuitable for team-building events. We can assure you that this is NOT the case. Despite our title, Project Panic aims to put teams through a fun yet time-bound challenge that forges team bonds and brings out the best of people in the most critical of times. We can assure you that our staff and experience will be courteous, professional, and fun for you and your group. Besides, we've been here for a few years now, so we ask that you trust us!

We are NOT a haunted house. No fake mummies or scary vampires here…just good old puzzles and fun!

Can we bring food/drink? What about BYOB?

We allow food and drink in the waiting area, but if any large spills, messes, or vomit is found, parties will be fined up to $100. We ask that no food and drink be taken into the room. Besides, you’ll be too busy trying to escape to focus on eating.

Got any more questions?

No problem! Just shoot us an email at austin@projectpanicescaperooms.com and we’ll get back to you as soon as we can! Happy escaping!
